"It is not what you want that you attract; you attract what you believe to be true.” – Neville Goddard
I was reading “Prayer, the art of believing” by Neville Goddard and this quote really hit me. I watched the movie “The Secret” years ago when it came out and was so excited to put it into practice. It didn’t work well for me and I felt like a failure. I thought I just wasn’t good at using the Law of Attraction.
I think The Secret was great and helped so many people but there’s more to it that I discovered later. Belief and feelings play an important role in attracting what you want. Neville doesn’t just say if you believe but you must believe it to be true. To me that means that you must believe and feel as if it’s already true for you to attract it.
You can say something all day long, but if deep down you don’t truly believe it you probably won’t attract it. There was a part of me that didn’t believe I had what it took to attract what I wanted at that time.
For instance, if you say that you want to be successful in your business but don’t truly believe you have what it takes or that it’s possible for you you’re going to attract what you feel and believe, which is lack of success.
Even though you may believe something is possible that doesn’t mean you just sit around waiting for it. Taking guided action is important. You may be guided to take a business leadership course or learn a new skill which will help you achieve your goal. If your desire is to achieve greater health then you may be guided to eat healthier, meditate, workout, etc.
I’ve found these four steps play an important role in achieving and attracting your desires: Belief, Possibility, Action, Result. First you must believe it or that it’s possible, then take guided action to achieve your result.
What would you like to attract in your life? Do you have any beliefs that may be getting in the way? If so what are some new beliefs you can create about it? I'd love to hear from you. Please share in the comments below.
