How are you showing up?

Have you ever walked into a room where two people are upset with each other and you felt their energy without them saying a word? There’s the old saying “The air was so thick you could cut it with a knife.”  Even if they are trying to act like everything is okay, you can feel it.

The same thing happens when you are around people who are happy.  If someone starts laughing and gets the giggles, it's contagious. There have been many times I’ve gotten the giggles even if I didn’t know why someone else was laughing.

The energy of our thoughts, feelings and emotions affect everyone and everything around us.  Our energy is the first thing to greet someone and sends a message before we even speak.

When I was trying to figure out how to be of service and make a difference in the world, someone told me that the best way to be of service is to “be happy.” When we are happy the energy we send out into the world is joyful, and that makes a difference.

Our energy has the capacity to heal.  We can spread love, compassion, peace and joy by being those things in our own life and in our interactions with people.

In Dr. Masaru Emoto’s book, “Messages from water,” he shares how spoken and written words change the structure of water. He shows us that what we say, and feel, as well as what we listen to has an effect on water, and because we are made up of water, it has an effect on us.  The photographs in his book documented the differences in the pattern the water molecule assumes and how they are affected by everything in their environment.

Here are some examples of how you can make a difference by being aware of your energy:

If you are going to have a conversation with someone, ask yourself what feeling you want to send out when you speak with them. Do you want to come from a loving space?  If so, put yourself into a loving state beforehand and think of the outcome you want. I used this process recently and it worked great!

If you are at the store and the clerk is obviously in a bad mood or upset, instead of getting upset and matching the energy, you could smile and send loving and compassionate thoughts to them.

If you are speaking at an event or have a business meeting to attend, go within and see how you are feeling. Decide how you want to show up and put yourself in that state beforehand.

Be happy!  Do things that bring joy to your life and that joy will spread out into the world and impact others.
